DESCRIPTION:The Smart Serve® alcohol service training program is designed to teach participants how to understand and implement responsible alcohol service.  Smart Serve certification is mandatory for those who serve\, purchase or handle liquor in Ontario.  This course will help you recognize the signs of intoxication and follow your legal obligations\, while promoting a hospitable environment by serving non-alcoholic beverages and encouraging alternative transportation. You will learn how to prevent problems from occurring and intervene when necessary. Upon successful completion\, you will receive a certificate by e-mail to verify that you are Smart Serve® certified.  Please note that this training will be delivered in a classroom format\, but the final test is written online.  A valid e-mail address that you can access for the final test and a piece of valid ID is required. Facilitators from the Thunder Bay Literacy Group Adult Learning Centre will host informal sessions at YES every Friday from 1-3pm. You have the freedom to choose the area you want to focus on.
